Walking Holiday in Mallorca and Menorca
Experience the very best of the Balearics on this relaxing walking holiday through the islands of Mallorca and Menorca. With a mix of gentle guided walks, free days to explore or unwind, and time to discover two unique Mediterranean islands, this itinerary offers the perfect blend of activity and leisure.
Your journey begins on the unspoilt northeastern coast of Mallorca, where rugged headlands, pine-covered hills and pretty farming valleys set the tone for scenic, tranquil walking. On your first guided walk, you’ll follow stony paths across the hills to reach Capdepera, a charming village crowned by a dramatic medieval castle. It’s a route that offers sweeping sea views, quiet trails, and a real taste of traditional Mallorca.
Later in the week, you’ll explore the coastal beauty of the Llevant Peninsula, walking from peaceful pine forests and dune landscapes to the sparkling waters of Cala Moltó and Cala Agulla. Along the way, you’ll pass hidden coves, gentle headlands, and perhaps even take a detour to the scenic Son Jaumell watchtower, a fantastic optional walk that rewards with panoramic views. Free days give you the flexibility to relax or revisit favourite spots at your own pace.
Midway through the trip, you’ll travel by ferry to Menorca, Mallorca’s quieter sister island and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Here, your walks focus on coastal discovery, combining turquoise seas, bright white sand beaches, and pine-fringed trails. You’ll walk one of Menorca’s most beautiful sections of the south coast, from Son Saura to Cala Galdana, passing iconic beaches like Macarella and Turqueta – a true highlight for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts alike.
Another guided route explores Menorca’s east coast, starting at the lunar-like landscape of Favàritx and winding through S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park – a haven for birdlife, wildflowers and coastal flora. The walk ends in Es Grau, one of the island’s prettiest fishing villages, where whitewashed houses and waterfront views create a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere.
Throughout the holiday, you’ll enjoy expert guidance, thoughtfully chosen walking routes, and plenty of time to soak in the slower pace of island life. With a mixture of guided walks and free days, this itinerary is ideal for those who enjoy gentle coastal walking, island exploration, and a chance to connect with the natural and cultural landscapes of Spain’s Balearic Islands.
Whether you’re drawn by the historic hilltop castles, the crystal-clear seas, or the joy of walking under the Mediterranean sun, this holiday offers a memorable way to explore two of Spain’s most beautiful islands – on foot, and at your own pace.
