Discover a walking holiday in Lanzarote

The island of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands off the coast of West Africa is known for its year-round warm weather, beaches and volcanic landscape. It was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, offering unusual landscapes made up of lava lakes and craters, volcanic caves, golden sandy beaches and beautiful transparent waters.

Your first walking day will take you to Timanfaya National Park, the only national park in the Spanish network that is of an eminently geological nature, since it is the result of the volcanic eruptions that took place between 1720, 1736, and in 1824.

The absence of vegetation, the extreme ruggedness of the terrain, the variety of colours, the silhouettes of the volcanoes and the jagged coastline – all of these make Timanfaya extraordinarily beautiful.

Your guide will also take you to La Geria, one of Lanzarote’s biggest surprises. A large area covered by little fragments of black volcanic sand deposits from the eruptions of Timanfaya have been used by Lanzarote farmers for growing vines.

The resulting wines, with their designation of origin, are special and internationally renowned. You will have the opportunity to try some of this wine at one of the wineries, as you take in the beauty of your surroundings.
